Mind-Body Interaction

The interplay between emotion, stress, and physiological activation can be seen in the downloadable PDF graphic below.  This is particularly helpful to understanding why we experience sleep disruptions, physical exhaustion, and extreme agitation during periods of high stress, and why we feel so much better physically when we are experiencing positive emotions.  HRV Biofeedback training uses this knowledge teach individuals how to become aware of stress effects before their reserves are depleted, and how to regulate their reaction to stress in the moment, and shift their own internal state to one that renews our physiological reserves.
